Challenges
The customer wants to optimize their infra running cost as a long-term solution. Moreover, they are planning to introduce Machine Learning tools/techniques to avoid manual work in translating the contents in different languages. Considering the cost optimization and the capability of the Google Cloud Machine Learning tools, we have decided to migrate their infrastructure to Google Cloud.
Solution
- Ankercloud migrated the servers from AWS to GCP, setting up the environment in a secure network.
- Create vmimport assume role with trust policy and the required permision to export the image to the bucket.
- Using AWS VM Import/Export service, exported the virtual machine images as VMDK file from existing EC2 instances to S3 bucket.
- Transferred the Exported VMDK file from the AWS S3 bucket to GCP cloud storage bucket with sts token authentication.
- Import the exported VMDK file into the images using Compute Images import service in GCP.
- Finally, Launched the Servers (Compute Engine) from images.
- The firewall security helped to block the all open world connections and set up the dedicated VPN for Cuarta.
- We helped the client to make high availability, taking frequent backup of VMs and SQL servers.
- Ankercloud implemented the monitoring and alerting strategy to focus on delivering the right information to the right people at the right time.
